You’ve probably seen Empire-NGS’s recent announcement that its data center operations will be moving to a new, centralized facility in Kentucky. As a result, they’ll be better able to provide you with enhanced custom service. That’s the good news…

Moving also usually involves leaving certain things behind. To that end, Empire-NGS has opted to eliminate e-Link for Medicare transactions.

e-Link will remain available for Empire BCBS commercial transactions at this time.That means you'll be communicating to an M2 EDI system for Medicare and using e-Link via HTTP for commercial transactions… of course, these protocols will have to be encrypted. Crystal clear, right?

We speak Medicare. Today, you use e-Link as a source for processing Medicare and Empire BCBS and QuickLinkSM for commercial claims. The Medicare component is going elsewhere. As a result, some vendors want you to purchase new software and learn how to run it. You’ll end up with two different software packages and multiple sets of login credentials to accomplish what you can with just e-Link today.
